~* BELLY DANCE* ~ *Cabaret style* ~
New "Fall" 09 classes: Start: 9/14/09 - 11/16/09
RANCHO CUCAMONGA / ALTA LOMA, CA.
In the "Inland Empire" of So. Calif.
I teach in Rancho Cucamonga but close to Alta Loma,
Fontana, Montclair, Ontario, Rialto & Upland.
Beg. 6:30 - 7:30 ~ Int./Adv. 7:40 - 9:10 PM
My classes focus on: *** "Cabaret Belly dance" ***
Each session we look at a different part of a complete "Cabaret Belly dance" routine.
All classes include: Strong technique, warm ups, stretches to improve posture, flexibility & increase circulation.
Basic steps, some choreography, or combinations of steps will be done as well.
We will learn how to play *Zills*, & dance with *Veils*, (unique veil ties) using
(**3yd. rectangular or circular, & double circular veils**) & how to do Drum Solo's, and the
various rhythms used in "Cabaret Belly dance "will be looked at as well.
Some sessions include, Armenian & Persian 6/8 style & steps, as well as, Egyptian, & Turkish style,
that includes, 9/8 rhythms & Karshilama dance steps.
"Armenian" and "Greek" folk dancing are taught in some classes.
Original Choreography's are taught in some classes, music interpretation, improvisation skills learned
as we progress. ** Solo dancing ** We will do a complete dance routines using all the skills learned
in previous classes. ((Advanced classes only)) Class recitals are sometimes arranged.
(**Basic costuming also taught in some classes** )
***EACH SESSION IS DIFFERENT***
BEGINNING (LEVEL- 1-) -- Introduction to Belly dance include; Basic steps, Choreography,
(some classes) Veil dancing, Drum Solos, - how to play - "Zills" (Finger Cymbals)
& the rhythms used in "Cabaret Belly dance".
(Zills can be purchased in class.)
INTERMEDIATE/ ADVANCED (LEVEL - 2-) -- More challenging, basic Zills and Veil required.
(at least 4 beginning classes required *AND* instructor approval)
ADVANCED (LEVEL- 3) -- "Advanced" level choreography, steps, or combinations,
& solo improvisation encouraged, how to dance with Zills & use a Veil, doing a complete "Cabaret routine".
You will be asked to do a complete routines in class only, with the other students, doing, either the
choreographed routines we have been working on or a *solo* of your own!
(At least 1 1/2 to 2 years of instruction & instructor approval only) -- TBA
