Misses the mark
As more and more legitimate voices from the science community speak out, they are demonstrating just how wrong the premises of this film are. As 2008 draws to a close and the northern hemisphere is shivering in the cold, an inconvenient truth is that "An Inconvenient Truth" is nowhere near the truth. - Andre , posted 12/24/08

A MUST SEE
Stop watching stupid mutant movies, running after latest fashion trends, getting drunk in a damn bar, reading cheesy novels and wasting your time alltogether!
Watch this film and start spending your time THINKING about your part in this world - THE REAL WORLD... then spread the awareness and take action. The future of this planet depends on you and me! - Lana , posted 10/02/07

A damn good documentary
It was a while ago I watched it now, but it certainly rang true and gave me a lot of encouragement that there are new ways being ploughed forward that work, if you like, in an Integral way that suggest plausable solutions grounded in reality.

It also does a good job of portraying normally 'dull' facts in a memorable way that prompt action.

The one that stuck out was the representaion oh a huge diagram-board the CO2 and temp levels of the past 600,00 years, and how in the last 100 CO2 has shot up over two times above the average. Sobering stuff... - melvin , posted 05/05/07

Get Your Head Out of the Sand
If you haven't seen An Inconvenient Truth, then go watch it. Stop making excuses, stop sticking your head in the sand, I am here to tell you that it's ALL RIGHT NOW. And the end doesn't have to be a huge disaster, but it's all up to us.

I was lucky enough to get to see the film at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival this past Friday, and was witness to a historic moment as Davis Guggenheim, the director of the film, and Al Gore, well, you should know by now who that is, came and sat onstage at the Arlington theater and discussed the movie, the nominations for academy awards and the nobel peace prize, and why politics have gotten so bad.

"I'm a recovering politician." Al Gore joked, as he explained how the face of politics changed with the advent of television commercial campaigning.

Davis and Al both agreed that every campaign should have a fully financed film available to the public. Al's father had been a politician, and had been the subject of a campaign film shot by Davis Guggenheim's famous father. They blamed short commercials and smear campaigns for the obviously misguided public opinion during the 2000 elections that Al Gore was boring and has no character. (Which couldn't be further from the truth, Al Gore is both charming and witty.)

When James Cameron presented the SBIFF award for Best Nature Film, he came out and said what everyone was feeling. "I don't care if your mad at me, " he said to Al, "I'm just going to say it. You have got to step up to the plate and run again for election in 2008."

At this point everybody in the theatre jumped up and started cheering. Al Gore blushed, and motioned for everybody to quiet down, but the sentiment in the room was loud and clear. America needs a real leader. Somebody who stands for what is truly important, and who will not be controlled by his pockets, or the pockets of the oil industry.

Something needs to happen, and it needs to happen fast. If I had my way I would impeach this imposter who has taken over our country, and re-elect the man who truly won in the 2000 election. (It is not so well known, but several months after the recount finally came in, Al Gore had in fact won the popular vote in Florida, as well as the rest of the United States.)

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. You can think what you want, but whatever you do, at least go watch the movie. - Mars , posted 02/06/07

The Most Important Film I Have Ever Seen - The 6th extinction is at hand
This is the most important film I have ever seen. It is IMPERATIVE not only that you see it, but that you convince everyone you come in contact with the urgency of doing whatever they can to deal with the "inconvenient truths" of its subject matter. Nothing else in your life will ever be as important as this, once you understand the problem and what's at stake. - , posted 12/21/06

They should show this movie in every school in America
I thought I wouldn't see this movie because it is preaching to the choir but I was very alarmed. I have been saying there will be a disaster in the next ten years if things keeping going the way they are (and it doesn't look lik ethey are changing) but this clearly shows the extent of the changes that are happening and about to happen. Everyone on Earth needs to see this movie. My only complaint is that it caters to Al Gore's ego but it is well worth it for the information in very clear English. - Lighthouse , posted 09/28/06

An Inconvenient Truth is It.
Finally, what we've been waiting for: proof that other people think the arts are the way to create social change!!!
Al Gore, in all his years in politics, chose the venue of a movie to express his perfect point: that humans are changing the world and not for the better.
This movie is simple, personal, and utterly powerful.
Having gone into it knowing just about everything about climate change (I got my Bachelors in Environmental Studies and Theatre), and having read Gore's first book Earth in the Balance, I was still floored by the sheer power of the message.

AND, the coolest part about this movie is that it is CARBON-neutral. All the damage done to the environment because of filming, transportation, etc. is being offset by new renewable energy projects, half of which Paramount is paying for.

I say we nominate Al Gore for the Nobel Peace Prize. - Maya , posted 06/19/06

An Inconvenient Truth
This is simply "The more people see it the better" The problem with the current American
culture is that for the most part, the general population would rather stay home and watch "American Idol" than something thought provoking and of genuine importance. It's a huge
problem as long as we have a sense of "US" and "Them". People here know the transparency of such illusions... not sure the consensus sees it that way. My prediction would be rather grim. Save the planet will always be save ourselves. Quite sure the planet will do just fine without us after it shakes the human experiment of it's back like a horse wagging it's tail. Best to re evaluate the concept of "intellegent life". - John , posted 06/01/06

A Call For Global Awakening
"Eloquently weaves the science of global warming with Al Gore’s personal history and lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change. A longtime advocate for the environment, Gore presents a wide array of facts and information in a thoughtful and compelling way. The film is not a story of despair but rather a rallying cry." -- Apple.com

This is a must-see film! Global warming happens when carbon dioxide builds up in the atmoshpere and traps sun light in, warming the climate. The effects of unnatural climate shift result in the hurricanes, tornados, floods, heat waves, and so on. The US is the #1 contributor of carbon dioxide to the environment. We have about less than 10 years left to reverse our destructive habits and move toward a harmonious relationship with the Earth. If we don't, we won't be here.

This documentary is inspiring and clear, moving and intelligent; it is a call-to-action, and very hopeful for the future. Al Gore comes across as natural leader and a man who is passionate about creating balance on planet earth. Watching him speak, I found it hard to even comprehend how a man like George Bush is president.

SEE IT ! And tell everyone you know : )
