Sprint is shit!!!
Dropped calls every step of the way. I got the Instinct. what a piece of shit!!! I had a dropped call every other call. I exchanged the phone 3 times in 20 days. Nothing fixed the dropped calls. They simply have bad coverage where ever you go. Avoid them like the plague. I complained to customer care 10 times and the asked me to find a new provider despite not one being rude. Some company! Instead of dealing with the issue they ask you to leave. No wonder they lost 1.3 million subscribers this quarter. - Unsubscribed , posted 11/08/08

Sprint Sucks Balls!
I have experienced rude service, sales people who ignore me when I walk into a stotre, defective phones and lack of coverage everywhere I have gone. I have been to all 50 states and the coverage is crap. What do you expect form a single band carrier.
i did research and have found that cdma is a joke and not really that great. not many countries use it because gsm is better.
When I had been with sprint for 5 years and my contract was up they did zip to retain me as a customer. I asked for a free phone or a reduced price for a Samsung A900 and got no when I asked the online rep, the over-the-phone rep and a sales guy at a store. mind you i had been with the company for 5 years and had used the same clunky analog phone for all that time. It was not like I was always asking for freebies. I paid my bill on time, even using an expensive plan. All I can say is fuck sprint as they treat customers like shit.
As for Sprint researching their name, wtf? What does that have to do with customers being disregarded?
What good is a name if the customer service, the phones and the service sucks ass? - Firefox , posted 03/06/06

Been with Sprint for 8 years.
I've been using Sprint for the last 8 years and have not once switched. In Los Angeles my coverage was great, no dropped calls, ever. I could get service anywhere, especially where others coudn't. Now in the Phoenix area, I have continued to get great service.

I will say that they are a little pricier than some of the other carriers, but notice how every two years MCI changes their name to DilzCell and BellSouth changes to Zippo (those are not real life examples but u get the point) but Sprint remains the same, even after merging w/ Nextel they kept the Sprint name. You know they did pleanty of market research before the merger, if they felt Sprint was not the stronger brand, they wouldn't have kept it. - Eric , posted 03/01/06

I appreciate down to earth, real life experiences from people who have been ripped off by big companies. Now I kow better than to get a Sproint phone or account. - O'Golly , posted 01/19/06

Get Rid of Sprint at ALL Cost!!!!!!!!!!
Where to begin? I am dismayed and feel betrayed by the only wireless carrier I have ever had. I started with Sprint back in 1999. they signed me up for a plan when my credit was not even established without a deposit. they were helpful and were capable when ever I had a service issue. It seems with the Sprint-Nextel merger that has changed.

!. Spam:
Without my permission they have sold my info to other companies from CBS.com, the NFL , and Anheiser Busch to name a few. I did some research as to why I was being contacted with so much spam. I got a response back from each company that Sprint had given them my ciontact info. I did not believe that at first as they are not supposed to sell your info or give it out without your permission. I contacted Sprint with what I found and they admitted to giving my info. I asked them why and they could not tell me. i let them have it and they were rude as if I was crazy for not wanting spam from a dozen or more companies.

2. Lack of Coverage:
I travel quite a bit in the Southwest. Pacific Northwest and Midwest and have not gotten decent coverage anywhere. I have complained and asked for a credit to reduce my $90.00 a month bill. All I got was a "what do you want me to do about it" attitude. I tried calling, tried emailing and neither gave me a feasible solution. My contract was up mind you, so I asked them what they could do to make me want to stay. I had not gotten a phone upgrade in 6 years. I had the same dinky phone for that time. I asked them for some kind of upgrade or free, good quality phone. They basically told me that they were not able to offer me any deals at that time but I could see what I was eligible for on line. Beleive it or not I was only eliginble for $75 off a basic phone. I called again and they were acting as if I was some new guy off the street, very rude.

3. Lack of decent phones:
I looked at the phones that I could get $75 off on. They were all lame. None of them had more than 3 hrs of talk time. It was great that they had video and cameras, which would be very useful when I am on the road, especially on Rt. 66. What good is it if I am on a limited budget and can only get $75 off. The phones were prone tocrashes and freezing , which I witnessed in the stores that I visited. The sales people did not help as they knew little about the phones. Furthermore the phones have some of the highest sar rates (radiation) in the industry. I just gotta wonder if there is something better out there!

4. Poor customer service:
I called back to try my luck again and see if maybe there was a different customer service rep who may know more on how to help me. But nope, no such luck. I got more rude attitude and no help. I would have stayed if they had treated me like the valued customer I am. I never payed a bill late, never went over my minutes and never asked for any upgrades in 6 years.

5. overpriced plans:
My plan gives me 500 anytime minutes and unlimited night and weekend but no mobile to mobile. I notice elsewhere that mobile to mobile is available for no extra cost and for a lower price. I asked for them to lower my plan price but they would only do it if I did a new contract. i asked if they would throw in a new phone for free seeing as I did not ever get an upgrade and they said no. the best they could do is a cheap phone. Truly unfair since I pay for email on my phone and text messaging. I think I pay a good amount 85 dollars after taxes. They still give me zip!

****6. Silly Little Games: ( ADDITIONAL INFO)
I finally chose a providder and decided to bring my number over away from sprint. So I go in to the store to switch. I am told that I need my account number to port over. So I call Sprint customer service for my account number. They ask me why, and I tell them because I am switching carriers. They tell me that they cannot give me my account number over the phone. I ask them why that is and they made up some story about protecting my identity. I come to find out that they are supposed to ask me identifying questions like social, mother's maden name etc to prove who I am. They simply did not give it to me as they did not want me to leave. So I go to a sprint store to get my account number.
When I go back to the new carrier and port my number, we run into a problem. It shows up on the system that my number does not exist. We call sprint and they say that the number has been ported over already when it was not. It took 4 hours to get my number over to the new carrier. At every stop the Sprint side did everything to make it difficult for me to switch over.
They even tried to charge me an early termination fee though I am out of contract.****

So all I can say is leave Sprint if you already have them and don't go to them when your contract is up with another carrier. They do nothing for their customers and they treat you like a commodity, selling your info to spammers, and are stingy even to their best and longest customers. Whether it is Cingular, Verizon, T-Mobile, Alltel, Western Wireless or other carrier leave Sprint as soon as you can. - Unsubscribed , posted 01/08/06
