Melanee Thai,
I relocated to Los Angeles from Seattle, and was really not pleased with the quality level of Thai food in LA. I told this to many friends, and received recommendations for The Pink Pepper in Hollywood (good) and Chau Praya (gone).
However, nothing has been as good as Melanee Thai, just south of Beverly Hills (Pico & Beverly Drive).
I have been really impressed with the food, the vibe and the environment, and the owner, Paul Butpet is super cool and accomodating.
I have challenged my friends to find a better Thai restaurant (for price and everything on the menu being great, not just 4 or 5 things), and all of my friends continue to go back there.
I have no affiliation with this restaurant, other than the fact that I love the food and the vibe, and I want to turn people on to it. It's one of those places that you think "Hmmm. Maybe I shouldn't tell anyone so it doesn't get crowded...."
Paul put up a new website, it's www.thaifoodla.com.
9562 West Pico Blvd. in Los Angeles
