Have you guys seen Biznik.com? It's a business social network that puts indie business people in touch with each other locally, using some pretty cool Web 2.0 geo-location tools, including Google maps of members locations, and the best AJAX user-interface that I've ever seen in any social network. You can send other members referrals or messages, invite them to your network, introduce them to another member, send a compliment or bookmark them - instantly without leaving the page you're on. Best of all, this isn't just another online social network - it's all about face-to-face events that are put on by members. Most of them are happy hours or social events that revolve around business networking, but a lot of them are also education workshops with titles like "The Power of the Press Release: How to get the media to cover your business."
