Cinespia's mission is to foster a community for LA film enthusists to see classic movies and promote film preservations. How do they do this? By showing classic, provactive and unusual movies on the back of a masoleum in the Hollywood Forever Cemetary. Every other Saturday night from Mid-may to October, the Hollywood Forever Cemetary opens up its gates to the neighborhood. Claim a spot on the lawn, relax on the lawn and enjoy a picnic as a live dj spins and classic film posters are projected on the masoleum wall. Or go check out some of the famous "neighbors" in the cemetary. As soon as the sun goes down, the movie begins. Your $10 entrance fee goes to film preservation. Limite parking available in the cemetary, street parking available outside. Great way to spend a balmy Saturday nigh with friends. - Julia , posted 09/09/04 |
