Within every one of us, there is a voice that speaks the truth
"What does it take to make life work!?" "Do you really want answers to your questions, or are you just venting?"

At first, I was mildly skeptical: how could the Hollywood machine take such a personally profound book, an uncommon dialogue between humanity and God, and make a film about it? How would the uncommon nature of God in this book be represented on screen ? Would the divine speak in a booming, commanding voice reminiscent of most monotheistic faiths? Or would it be something different?

To put it mildly, I was both surprised and delighted. The film version of Neale Donald Walsch's "Conversations with God" does justice to the intention of the book not through a strict adherence to the literal content, but instead focusses on the origins of the message. The film follows the real-life events in which the author worked through the lowest, most desperate point in his life. Homeless, destitute, with nothing left to loose, Neale Donald Walsch asked God some tough questions. And to his surprise, God responded.

"Have you had enough yet?"

Thus began an uncommon dialogue with God, as Walsch embarked on a journey of reconciliation with self, of discovery, and release. The film is Walsch's story through and through. And that is what makes it so enjoyable, an excellent companion to the book. Read the books, watch the film, and appreciate the message in it's entirety. - Nagdeo Menninkäinen , posted 01/23/07

Conversations Before God...The more realistic never 'made for tv' prequel about Walsh...
....That you will never see.
Long time residents of Ashland (where he lives) remember a time when Walsh was known by another name, hosted an extremely conservative radio talk show (a la Rush Limbaugh) and had a pattern of roughing up his then wife. No wonder god needed to talk to him. It's just too bad he has no genuine ethics...unless you can call feigning spirituality to make a profit an ethic. - Dulcinea , posted 10/29/06

Don't go there...
I read the book. I believed it fully at the time. Now that I look back it doesn't sit right with me. I think it took me farther away from understanding God then closer to him. - Jennifer , posted 10/26/06

I was fortunate to be at the first public screening and talk of this wonderful film last evening here in Vancouver. I was deeply moved by its poignant messages and urge everyone to see it when it is realeased at end Oct beginning of Nov.
