Boook Lovers & Tree Huggers – UNITE! Plant a Tree for Every Book you Read.
About 20 million trees are being cut down EVERY YEAR to produce the books sold in the US alone.

Eco-Libris is a new venture dedicated to doing something about it by empowering you to plant a tree for every book you read in an easy and affordable way.

How does it work? It goes like this:

1. Enter our website at: www.ecolibris.net/

2. Choose how many books you would like to balance out... let's say five books.

3. Now comes our part: We work with non-profit organizations to plant five trees for you in developing countries. We also send you five stickers that you can post on your books' sleeves or inside jacket to display your commitment to the environment.

I think it’s pretty simple.

These non-profit orgs are registered, audited and reviewed annualy in the US or UK. The stickers themselves are made from recycled paper and so are the envelopes they are sent in.

We are just starting out so your help is appreciated. Log in, take a look at your bookshelf at home and maybe decide to plant some trees or buy stickers to friends who would appreciate it. And please let me know with a tribe msg what you think about it all. - Eylon , posted 06/17/07
