excellence in truth
michael moore tells it like it is, with personality. the bush lie cannot be repeated and moore does his best to change what has been done to the american public. - graham , posted 06/26/05

propaganda!!!
People like Micheal Moore do not show the truth of any situation...everything is one sided and all he is good at is editing footage to fit into his films properly - Elizabeth , posted 12/29/04

Farenheit 911
too much old subject matter, panderingly pretentious scenes featuring moore with the "typical american soldier's family", excellent intervention when reading the patriot act from an ice cream truck around the congress, good in-your-face action asking congress people to have their kids enlist to fight in Iraq.

not a documentary.
definitely a propaganda piece.
not a good piece of film-making.
definitely a piece of tireless self promotion.

Sometimes Less is More
Hangers-on of political news and the well-connected may find Moore preaching to the choir, regurgitating previously released information with an occasional factual gaffe.

The genius of this film lies not in the content, but the editing: Moore wraps it up for you in one thoroughly convincing little package.

And the reactions of congressmen to Moore's request to sign their own kids into the armed forces - well that's something even Saudi oil money can't buy. - Patrick , posted 10/16/04

Important for All!! Look and Learn.
Showed alot about Bush, et al, that I have suspected, but now have backed up. I think all Republicans should see this before they vote. - Goldwolfe , posted 07/25/04

just do it, see F 9/11
'Thumbs up' from this side of the aisle.
'Thumbs down' from the other side.

Shooting off your mouth again? he'd ask me.

Some people don't say much as they are worried about looking stupid. I don't have that problem. ;)

When the Texan let me pick the movie, even though I hadn't seen any of the movies at all, I still picked this one. It's the only adult movie, and a documentary I warned him. And besides he'd already seen all the fun Shrek, and Harry Potter ones.

"You owe me big time" he said as we left the theather. "That was really bad". He thought as the whole thing was biased only against the president and very one sided.

He also thought the dog eat dog production company was funded by Kerry supporters. Sorry but the website doesn't list it's sponsors. But that's possible as even the opening credits show Affleck, Stevie Wonder and some of the Hollywood stars that were supporting the Gore campaign. www.michaelmoore.com/dogeatdogfilms/

I went to see it after watching the 9/11 commission report release and the news conference with the reporters asking about the Saudis and issues raised in the film. He thought that the movie was timed to come out with the elections, but I commented that the official report just came out now, these things all take time to make.

I thought it was great. The cinemetography is sharp. And he has a knack for finding the news clips that show everyone at their dumbest.

One of the things the 9/11 report suggests is an intelligence czar. They need a quarterback was the analogy they used. To see our top leader reading at the grade school level as planes go down and he does nothing for 10 minutes or whatever it was was very disappointing.

The statistics about the army targeting African Americans and lower economic class was also very upseting. Especially in light of the recent Urban League convention with both political candidates speaking. It is very disappointing to hear the statistics of 50% of African American men not working. And 1 billion in faith based initiatives. I think that our priorities should be on the domestic economic front and combatting the deficit we seem to have forgotten about. The black vote went 9 to 1 to Gore and it was disappointing to hear the representatives could not find ONE Florida senator to sign their bill. Sounds like time for an election over there to me.

I've seen the neighborhoods like those that look like the warzone here in Michigan. There are also the 'Halloween houses' that are vacant buildings turned into crack houses that all mysterliously go up in smoke one night a year. I thought it was all very topical, relevant, and disapppointing to me. I'd like to have an America I could believe in.

I justified it by explaining how Moore always does controversial stuff and that this is no different. It was sad to hear that Linda Ronstedt got kicked out of her Vegas show after her commenting about the movie.

It prompted me to investigate his background and check off more movies I'd like to see.

There was also just a report about how seeing movies change your hormones. Not surprising that sexy movies would put you in the mood. All I can say is this movie made us argue about issues that can only be solved by thumb wrestling, rubber band shooting, and tickling.

So next time we're seeing Spidey. And I'll buy. But only after 'Supersize me' and 'The Corporation'. - , posted 07/23/04
