 The Float Matrix... cozy, clean and friendly was my impression of the owner Kane and his lil' baby business... I was very impressed with the unusual and unique space he has transformed into a functional classy relaxed atomosphere... This was my first time meeting Kane and he seemed very friendly, knowledgable, passionate and grateful to share what he has found out about himself through floating... This was my 1st float and he thoroughly explained what to do prior to the float, during and after... he made me feel comfortable and calm... so when I entered the floatation bed I felt confident and safe.... He provided all the showering necessities, bathroom basics and even lil' slippers with a robe :) classy! My mind might be considered a "monkey mind" ;) it has a tendancy to ramble,judge and squirm in new atmospheres coupled with the presense of silence...so although I was enjoying the experience I was unable to relax my mind and found myself basically playing in the float tank... stretching, exploring the sensation of boyancey, listening to my breathe, making sounds through the water, opening my eyes in the darkness, judging myself, contemplating the smell of the tank and basically wanting to know how much time had passed... so needless to say I did not reach a state of deep relaxation... I did however gain an understanding of the surroundings in the tank wich I think will help me relax more the next time I float ;) and yes I do plan to float again in the near future... if not to relax but to chat with another person (Kane) who is creating the life they want to live :) it was truly a thought prevoking lovely experience that ended with a spot of tea some fruit and a bit of chit chat. - bLIZArd , posted 02/19/07 |

A hidden treasure amongst a multitude of experiences to be had in San Francisco. I truly enjoy floating. I have floated a couple of times and each time I feel like I go into a different dimension and feeling levatated. I come out feeling completely relaxed and the chronic tensionin my shoulders is relieved. I would recommend this to anyone who "needs a break from life stressors". If you are looking for a wholesome way to release some stress and silence the treadmill of repetitive negative thought, then look no further.
