 The Dec. '07 issue is out and in the pits. What started out as a panacea to Natural Dogfur and Hot Rod sterility has been usurped by small-scale So. Cal. biz interests. The results are primarily sponsor-focused features on west coast independent promotions ie, Sacramento, Sears Point, the greater (and increasingly upscale/whitebread) nostalgia/history research and reenactment community.... Richard Heath has now ressurected a glossy semi-monthly that, by all rights, should still not exist at this point in the decade. He battles market forces and doles out subs by hand all up and down the coast. His relationships with old school Long Beach/LA Harbor culture is dimming. This is the sad part. Still, the indie doorslammer coverage is something you can't experience off any web site. More Darrel Conrad and less Steve Justice would help the creeping sterility Richard seems to only stave off for a month at a time.
