Harbin Hotsprings. Especially if you have someone to go with, but even without it's pretty damn cool. It's up north near Calistoga, just a few hours drive. You're up in the middle of the woods, with 24 hour access to natural, hot-spring heated hot-tubs, pools, plus saunas and spa treatments, yoga classes, cool movies showing nightly, and there's a nice big kitchen co-op for cooking your own meals. Camping is $25-30 per person per night, or there's cabins and dorms for those who can afford them. So, all in all, you can have a great weekend getawat for two for about $100. I love Harbin. It is beautiful and takes only a few hours to get there from SF Bay Area! It is better to go with friends but also can be nice alone. People have said that there are some swarmy men there but they have never bothered me. Cheers Justin - Ms Justin , posted 12/28/05 |

I love the place but I've been really discusted from time to time on busy days. Every now and then you get some nasty floatys in that pool. Other then that, it's been a great retreat. -  Keith

I used to pay for an annual membership, but stoped using it since I now rarely go. Harbin is a good place for massage, to relax and get away and if you are into it, cruise! I stoped going because it became to cruisy. A polite discreete connection and invitation is fine, but it just became too much and thankfully Harbin is now cracking down much more seriously on unwanted advances and public sex. You can't expect anything other than a glowing review from a resident of Harbin, so I want to preface with that. I love this place so much I ended up moving in! We have been cracking down on the inappropriate and predatory behavior. I am so sorry a few of you have had such negative experiences. I would ask that if you do encounter that kind of stuff, help us out by letting us know. We DO kick people out for that kind of behavior. Aside from that, there are the pools, the garden is beautiful! So are the trees and wildlife. We have stargazing (with expert astronomer) Writing workshops, yoga, dance events (featuring some kickass djs!) and yummy food in the restaurant. Harbin RAWKZ! - SENSEI , posted 09/12/07 |

wake op! goglie eyed oooooooh aaawwww. hello!!!!!! do not get to sucked in by the lovy dovy energy. DARK ENERGY is at work. (it is like disney land, when the cast is behind the scenes... one should hear how they reguard thier adoring fans.....sic) caution! re: the core groupe.........scary.... the smiles are masks. give them plenty of space, they jelously guard thier position, they will latch on to inuendo and run with it.( currancy in this place.) spys everywhere, each with thier own agenda, the politics of this place, so sordid as to eclipse any good. so many good people have been defiled, wounded to the core by the insensativity of this place.( worthy of study.) the owner is being hoodwinked by a bunch of fauning weasils...he should sell these pathetic "hanger -oners" down the river, and shake them off like so many leaches on his ass. this place is like survivor island, only the politicaly adept, conected, and specially gifted, passive aggressive individual rise in this hierarchy...... not unlike any culture, the particularly virulant agent will manage to oose to the top what about that yoga "guru"? the nausiating one with the EGO? what a turn off! (it would be amusing to see how he would fair in the real world! is it not time karma visited this deamon?) yes, he has his schtick down, desperately pleeing for attention. (what gives? only child?, trust fund baby?) gag, barf. (they claime they are getting rid of the predatores??????????? but the pools are FINE and well maintained as to the smarmy guys BS they say that about every gym in america "oh its a pick up joint" Like theres something wrong with men and women connecting YOU should only be there for spiritual healing BS It is HUMAN NATURE to connect, and being in the nude with hotties is bound to bring that up ANY TRUE GODDESS IS NOT THREATENED BY MALE ENERGY and can quickly diffuse an un initiated tantric fake with one of many ancient feminin' wiles, not the least of which is hanging out with a G F and giggling like crazy whenever he approaches, looking down a lot Mexican women have known this for years... american girls are all looking in the guys eyes saying"ooh these latin men are way to pushy" if you don't want to get pushed,don't connect duh oh and the white stuf floating in the water is natural conglomerations of minerals not you know what,or snot, just ignore it, and it will ignore you. - Nicolas , posted 05/18/09 |
