There's a place in Half Moon Bay where you can ride on the beach - Sea Horse Ranch - which is pretty good. Mar Vista in Daly City, 5 Brooks Ranch in Olema, and Miwok in Mill Valley - I haven't been to - so I can't say whether they're good or not. But the BEST horses for rent are in Fort Bragg - about 3 hours away - at Ricochet Ridge. They have great horses if you're an experienced rider - I told them I was experienced and they gave me a horse that was 17.5 hands high!
