Compelling
Compelling story telling with cheadle carrying off a great impersonation. Though in reality the man who committed these great acts of humanity is little like cheadle physically, i liked the story, the way it was written and played. I almost never watch a movie twice, i'd watch this one again! - Clinton , posted 06/07/07

Amazing...
Don Cheadle was robbed of the best actor. He brings such emotion to the role. I saw this movie with a fried who cried the entire time...I raged. The unfortunate thing about it is that this sort of genocide is still going on and no one cares. - Luna , posted 11/29/06

Hotel Rwanda
Didn't think much of this film at all.
Maybe I'm just a cynic but I feel that the real life events were exploited more for entertainment purposes than to educate the world about events in Africa. It really didn't make an impact on me.
For a real insight into some of the things that go down in parts of Africa try watching a documentary film called Cry Freetown, filmed by Sorius Somora. - JimSteel , posted 10/25/05

Hotel Rwanda was a very moving film
I watched it with a friend of mine while sipping on some stoli. I was nearly brought to tears by it. That's pretty rare.

Good film. Horrible situation. I really feel for those people. - John , posted 10/21/05

This movie is a must see for everyone. I was both inspired and disgusted by the determination of the human spirit in this film. Watch it and you'll know what I mean. - Bridgette , posted 09/22/05

Astounding!
This true story is almost unbelievable. It amazes me that people can be so cruel in this day and age. The courage shown was truly astounding. - Lana , posted 09/10/05

Excellent!
Don Cheadle did and extraordinary job as a four star hotel manager trying to save the lives of neighbors and friends. By any means necessary, be it with money, jewellery, booze, and anything else he had to use. The fact that this is based on a true story makes it all the more wonderful to behold. - Randi , posted 07/17/05

"BEST MOVIE"
Wow! Talking about Acting. Don Cheadle is magnificient in this movie. He has always been a "B-Class " actor for me. But after seeing this movie, and he definitely deserves that Academy Award Nomination. But in my opinion, i think that he should have won Best Actor instead of Jamie Foxx. Don't get me wrong, Jamie Foxx was great in "Ray." But Mr. Cheadle had a more difficult role. - Unsubscribed , posted 05/16/05

Cheadle excellent in 'Hotel Rwanda'
Don't feel like writing a long piece or anything, but Don Cheadle really shines in 'Hotel Rwanda,' which documents the '94 genocide in that country. Not a lot of laughs, but very powerful stuff, especially in light of what's going on in Darfur these days and the lack of any action to stop it. - Kevin , posted 02/15/05

We must not ignore this
This powerful movie must be seen by all as an economic statement that we must continue to show these events in our media. - LeahJOY , posted 02/04/05

Powerful Movie, Spread the Word
Based on a true story, this drama is set in Rwanda's capital city of Kigali during the 1994 civil genocide. When the Hutu majority starts massacring the Tutsi population, Paul Rusesabagina (Don Cheadle), the Hutu manager of a luxury hotel, bravely fends off the bloodthirsty militia and corrupt army to save his Tutsi wife, children, neighbors and more than 1,200 other refugees who seek sanctuary at the resort.

This movie made me think deeply about what a human being is capable of doing for good and for evil. I had the honor of meeting the director and the real life hero of this movie, and I will never forget it. These are the brave people who are putting their lives and dollars on the line to make the truth known. This movie doesn't have the advertising dollars of a big Hollywood pic, so they're relying largely on word of mouth advertising. If you want to be moved by a powerful story and educated about these recent events in Africa, see this movie. And then spread the word.

Peace, Happy New Year!
