The battery life is grea, and I think you can get wireless builtin also.
Sony Vaio is nice, if you can afford it then got for it. Thier size is a major plus...

However, IBM has the X24, which is the size of a spiral notebook. The battery life is grea, and I think you can get wireless builtin also. The T30 line is nice, you get the slim feel but the size is much bigger.

I dont know about Vaio, but the IBM's can take a good beating, the finish is tough and they can take same good bumps and drops. Plus the IBM x24 has a built in CompactFlash which is great for Digital Camera users and for authors who can use that to move between the laptop and PC without using a network or other option... - Jeff , posted 02/11/04
I like it, it's good, except the clit thing they use instead of a mouse pad.
I have an IBM thinkpad, I like it, it's good, except the clit thing they use instead of a mouse pad. But I write all my drafts on a psion or an osaris (ancient handhelds with keyboard). It lets me write everywhere. I never tried it walking, but use it in the car, subway, train, airplane, whenever I can sit or stand still.
If I have to change, as they don't make them anymore, I'll buy me an Sony CLIE XUG. - Ylmar , posted 02/06/04
I'd get an IBM Thinkpad.
I'd get an IBM Thinkpad. I used one for 3 years before switching to Apple, but it was always solid. I toted that thing around everywhere and even dropped it a few times. Still works! The other nice thing is that they don't overload their systems with crappy software that bogs your system down...nice and clean. - Douglas , posted 01/22/04
