I wanted to provide some clarity to this page
If anybody wonders why 3 people posted here with such negative reviews at the beginning of this thread, who have 7 total posts between them as of now, let me explain.

These 3 people met on a competing music site and set out to trash IAC. Then they announced to our COO, Look what we did to you.. It was a group effort and most of what is posted is bogus info. They are disgruntled individuals. The first one owns his own small music site. The second one worked as a moderator at the music site where these 3 met, and the 3rd wore out his welcome at IAC by stalking our Operations Manager, after announcing to him that he was experimenting with gaming our charts!

I handle a lot of the public relations for IAC and probably 99 out of 100 correspondences are glowing. Our artist community is the most enthusiastic I've ever seen on any music site and I've belonged to many.

One of the things I appreciate least about the internet is that if a few malevolent individuals decide they want to be destructive, they can go around and say anything like we see above here. For a time, the 3rd person actually was trying to post an IAC hate link so many times that it showed up on the front page of google. To his credit he finally removed his hate blog after deciding he was tired of being so negative but his work still lives ad infinitum as we see here.

Anyway IAC is called The Indie Capital of the World and we couldn't be prouder of how the site has grown in both traffic and vision. Today in fact, we had our highest traffic day and we have a huge important announcement coming later this week that you may read about all over the net. Stay tuned!

Typical
As is typical of most amateur music sites, there is little here that actually stands up as being among the best of the best when compared against more nationally recognized recordings. Amateur sites are nice if issues such as performance skill and recording/production technique don't run high on your list of required attributes. Sometimes, an act does surprise ... but it takes time and patience to find them. IAC ranks poorly when compared to the depth of material to be found on places like Garageband and MySpace. - Goat , posted 12/03/06

Father Time aka Scott Is A Troll
Best anyone who's actually trying to do anything serious with their music to avoid IAC at all costs. I addressed some security concerns with them. I was banned from their forums immediately. When I tried to resolve this via e-mail exchanges I was accused of illegal activities. I replied stating my innocence and then promptly requested to have my account/music removed from their site. Later, on another forum I frequented Scott accused me and others of gaming his site. Not only did I not know how, but I had no reason to do this. I just didn't care all that much. IAC censors peoples posts by moving or deleting them w/out any warning and oftentimes w/out cause. They have some very serious security concerns regarding the music they host. Their charts, apparently, are suspect to being gamed and are pretty meaningless. I could go on with other stories about the place. But I've already wasted enough words on them. Thanks for reading. - Len , posted 12/01/06

Run by Biggest Troll on the Internet
Father Time is famous alright. He's been banned from more websites than possibly any other single individual due to his late night trolling of Internet bulletin boards. Now he wants to start his own Online Music website and be the next Internet Legend. He's the COO and co-founder of Independent Artists Company. And I knew nothing of his reputation before I starting having my own issues with this guy on his site. Suffice it to say that anyone who puts their music on his website is due for the same treatment that I received. So let me save you the hassle. You can read all about it on my blog here:

strathound.blogspot.com/

Topics "Avoid IAC At All Costs" and "The IACMusic.com Business Plan" are both a good place to start.

Educate yourself. You'll be glad you did.

A Call To Musicians / Sound Artists
Greetings All,
A Call to Musicians / Sound Artists ...
I just recently joined a new site where you can build a free account & load up to 3 tracks (not sure how long each track can be, but uploaded a nearly 13min. track with no problem). What I really like about this new site is that you have the opportunity to create radio stations (very much like the old skool mp3.com site back in the day) & I really miss having this option. The down side so far, is that there are not enough cool, dark, ethereal or other artists listed there yet (as it is still relatively new but building)...

So I thought I'd give a call out to artists to join so that I can place some beautiful music on my stations.
The site is IndependentArtistsCompany.com

So far, there does seem to be the option to upload up to 30 tracks, along with pics & CD sales options for a fee which amounts to around $5 a month or less... but so far, I am into the 3 track 'Free' Account...

take care for now & hope to see you there.
