A Book About Men
This is one of Robert Bly's more well known books : Iron John has a thesis: Western Fathers fail to give their sons what they need to be men. Young men need initiation into adulthood, to be welcomed among the fathers of the world, or they rage and sulk alone through life.
The way in which Robert backs up his thesis is by looking at well known stories of initiation into manhood from cultures past and present. There is ample evidence to support his theory, and much of this book will ring deeply true for many men who suffer from growing up without a strong Father figure in their lives.
Highly recommended reading for all who seek to be BRAVE!!
