Honestly, I enjoyed the outside of the buildings more than the inside. Being that a colleague of mine once said the artwork in the Getty is what would be in the basement of the Louvre, I couldn't agree more. Nothing spectacular if you've been in art museums around the world, but DEFINITELY spectacular architecture. If nothing else, come up and enjoy a picnic lunch in the garden, enjoy the view of LA (if no smog!), and enjoy the architecture. - Unsubscribed , posted 09/08/04 |

Famous Art for less than the price of dinner.
The J.Paul Getty Museum is Free. The shuttle ride up the hill is Free. The only thing you have to pay for is $5.00 to park. This excellent day trip is just off the 405 Freeway. See web site for current attractions. A classy place to take a date. You can admire a Van Gogh, try your hand at sketching in their artist's hands-on room, stroll through their cacti garden, or grab a bite and cruise the gift shop. - Fayme , posted 09/08/04 |
