bad timing?
I know Jose Gonzalez has a steadily growing name and that typically someone in that position doesn't perform first in a show, that they've got at least one opening band...But sandwiched between the Alex Cuba Band and their upbeat percussion, and the OUTSTANDING Seu Jorge...It just seemed very out of place. Gonzalez's would be a great performance at a small, dimly lit venue...or an open mic type scene...His lyrics are touching (lightly touching), his riffs are a little repetitive and eeyore-ish...he needs a new element, a new dimension to his style. Maybe one of the tambourines and a cuica from Seu Jorge's band....or even his audience!! - Vanessa , posted 07/04/06

Jose Gonzalez - check his music out!!!
One of them was the most excellent Jose Gonzalez. He performed a stripped down bare bone emotional version of
Massive Attack's "Teardrop" that was nothing short of excruciatingly hauntingly beautiful. (I love Massive Attack's
music and that song is my all time favorite of his). His covering of this song is perfectly on par with Johnny Cash
covering "Hurt" (originally by Nine Inch Nails). His original songs were nothing short of amazing. His voice is full of
emotion and comes across beautifully.
