a great place to explore
The look of the place is very unusal, destroyed mounds of granite, fields of yucca and Joshua trees. Lots of variety within the park inself. If you haven't gone there it's a must see. - , posted 02/05/06

Desert Nature
Obviously: see the national park. Stay in Joshua Tree itself (rather than Palm Desert, Yucca Valley, or 29 Palms). The park is other-worldly, and offers great rock climbing (beginners will have great fun!) and awesome trails. While there, you MUST go eat at Cross Roads cafe (for breakfast, lunch or dinner), and you MUST check in at Coyote Corner, where the owners will give you all the low down on the park itself and some good vibes as well! If you are in Southern California and you like the 'recharge' nature can give you, this is a fabulous weekend getaway. - Unsubscribed , posted 08/31/04
