An Unexpected Delight
A Classic! It's a pity I didn't discover Kate Bush sooner. This album has definitely made me a fan. - , posted 01/08/06

Kate Bush "Aerial" ~~ It Rocks?!
New kate Bush

the album is strange on first listening ... jump starting with oddly banal images of everyday life
as if to say ... I'm a lot like you, "washing machine" is oddly catching and underscores Kate's incredible ability to make anything, sound good ... the repetitive motion of repeating lyrical lines, often picked up from the environment around her echo the natural world, as though the birds themselves had scripted her lines ... there is a near syrupy quality to some of her ballads, which on subsequent listenings, cause my mind to stutter in its' attention ... about that time the tempo changes, as she layers it with more things to feel ...the sensuality, of textre, she throws at you lyrically, bring you back to simply listening ...

in the listening to her in life ... I've often found her sentimentality, annoying and the use of the chorus, is a little strange, somehow, skipping genres to choral work ...

for my mind who cares, though, it's Kate and she's back in all her glory.
