Nudity is illegal in one of the most beautiful states in the country. Really smart isn't it? That one fact illustrates the mentality of the born again Christian fundamentalist in the islands. The best place,, and it is a rocky beach, is directly below the lighthouse at Diamond Head. It is a steep walk down to the beach area, a small little place. The police make arrests there but usually at the complaint of some locals who go there especially to catch some nude guy. These lovely God-fearing Christians know perfectly well that men will be nude there, but they seem to delight in taking their cell phones to call the police at the sight of a naked man. If you only have a couple of days, you will be in a rush most of the time. You can go to the nude beach there,, but it may disappoint you very much. The guys, the few there, do not generally interact with each other, especially tourists. I don't mean tourist as a nasty word here. It is just that a new policeman from the mainland just moved to Hawaii would look like a tourist no matter what he was wearing. Be careful. Try to go before school is out in early afternoon. Contact me before you make a future visit and I will give you some recommendation for nude beaches that are out of the way. Remember that the one below the lighthouse at Diamond Head in Honolulu is right in the city. As for enjoying a nude vacation, you woud be better off at a small Bed and Breakfast on the Big Island ("Hawaii"). Remember it is illegal to be nude anywhere in the Hawaiian Islands.
