Wanna eliminate the drama in your relationships?
When both people in the relationship are on the same page with this, conflicts can be resolved quickly -- and with love. It starts with one. That can be you.
The method is "Non-Violent Communication", developed by Marshall Rosenberg.
His book is clearly written, inspiring, and describes a method that is graceful in its simplicity.
From my beginning experiences with it, I feel enthusiastic using it because of the immediate positive results. It allows us to clearly communicate own our feelings rather than attribute them to someone else. i.e., "You make me so mad." or "I feel that you are trying to manipulate the situation." etc.. ad nausem.
I can highly recommend Rosenberg's NVC book as a place to start eliminating the drama from our relationships. - raku , posted 03/26/07

Create Your Life, Relationships, and World in Harmony with Your Values

Underlying all human actions are needs that people are seeking to meet. Understanding and acknowledging these needs can create a shared basis for connection, cooperation, and more global peace.

NVC can dramatically improve relationships by focusing our attention on two response options:

- Expressing our real feelings and needs openly and honestly, yet without evaluation, blame, or criticism.

- Empathic understanding of others without compromising our own values by stating what we sense the other person might be feeling and needing.

NVC delineates four components of communication:

- OBSERVATIONS free of evaluations

- FEELINGS straight from the heart

- NEEDS, values, and longings

- REQUESTS for that which would enrich life, expressed clearly in positive action language
