Celtic-Middle Eastern Fusion
No, it's not danceable. But it could certainly be used during a dance class cool-down, which is what we did last night. Here's the concept: take English folk songs and tunes (some of which tell stories that take place in the Middle East). Have English musicians collaborate with musicians from several Middle Eastern countries. Ask Natacha Atlas to sing on a couple tracks. But don't expect it to sound like a Natacha Atlas album. All I can say is that it conjures up amazing images in my head when I'm listening to it ... and everything feels so peaceful. - , posted 06/07/07
