I recommended the PV Inn to my Dad when he visited me in Redondo Beach, and he was very happy with it. The rooms were about $90 for a king-size or 2 queens, including a continental breakfast and free parking. It's only 5 minutes walk to Redondo Village (lots of shops, Trader Joe's, coffee places, etc.) and Torrance Beach, popular with surfers and dolphins. The rooms were decent, clean, and had a nice view (over a roof) to the ocean. The pool was GREAT! Half enclosed, heated, it felt like a little tropical paradise.
