What about the fact that the design wimps allow for anyone who doesn’t like what opinions I post or photos I present may flag the content as “inappropriate” or worse. Although some may think it's an unworkable idea to have two divergent interfaces, it could easily be done. The site templates already exist for both sites. People who prefer the old Tribe.net look and function can simply use it, while overall development of Tribe.net could still continue. Each interface has it's own set of aesthetic and functional sensibilities, which could totally coexist together. Basically, I'm suggesting Tribe.net shift its thinking a bit and embrace the notion of having a plurality of site interface options... - ☯kenrom , posted 01/29/06 |

new interface doesnt really get to me, but fuck- the only reason i get on this thing is cause i have friends on here, if the new tribe chases them away... POOF i go too. This new version of the Tribe website interface is a real challenge. Frankly, it is no longer helping to bring people together, but rather destroying a fairly tight group of long time users here in the Portland area. Many are reluctant to even use the service any longer - a real shame, considering how popular it was just prior to the redesign. The interface is so bad that some are even willingly moving to an even worse service, mySpace. It kind of reminds me of when Coke decided to do New Coke - and lost their asses. After losing millions of dollars, they admitted their wrongdoing and came back with the "Classic". Come on, Guys. Don't screw with a good thing. I cant make sense of all of the listings. there is no one event section so i have no idea whats going on in my town anymore. the listings dont have the location next to them, so I have to make an extra step to find out where things are...if i even find them in the first place. ok, and the look, if it aint broke, dont fix it. i hate the new look. i've tried to give it a little time, but it just gets worse. not user friendly,asthetically irritating. the other look was fun and down to earth. Yeah, seriously, I wince every time I come on tribe, now. I'm not recommending it to others anymore, and guess what, I'm not clicking on any more ads than I used to. Aesthetically, tribe is now the opposite of beautiful, and since most of us are drawn to beauty, these changes make no sense to me from a marketing point of view. I don't like it as much as the old one. I find the posting box is too long now. The feel is much more corporate and that graphic in the members bubble makes me uncomfortable. The way my tribes come up on my home page doesn't always work out for me. I think it would be nice to have another colour or two, to add to or replace that red. - jen period , posted 01/25/06 |

I dunno, but this new look really shocked me. I really dont like the color. It doesnt have the feel that it used to. As far as the comment about everyone being whinny babies. I really think youve taken that to far will. This look is uncomforting, and people have the right to bitch as much as they want. Its a call for change, standard arguement format. If we didnt voice our opinions it would be a waste of right. Your opinion is respected, i just wish you would show the same respect. I get the feeling tribe is just more geared to make money now.
