White wine of the week
Alright here they are
1) Bethel Heights Pinot Gris: Bright, crisp and clean with a smooth finish. HInts of pear, honeysuckle, and some stone fruit close to peach, more a white peach. Lingering finish and made to cream sauces even curries. Retails in the $21.00 and can be found at The Merc in Placitas, or requested at Jubilation or Quarters on Wyoming.
2) A to Z Pinot Gris: Coming from Oregon, this little Pinot Gris has a ripe fruit fullness to it. Light citrus fruit meets almonds on the finish. This is a fun patio wine great with dry cheeses, fruit, crab, pasta and muscles. Retails in the $16.00 and can be found at Jubilation, Quarters on Wyoming, and Quarters on the Westside at Alameda and Ellison.
3) Ca del Sarto PInot Grigio: Here is a straight up traditional Italian wine. Crisp, very little citrus but there is a hint of lime or lemon to round it out. Bright acid makes this perfect with pasta dishes with veggies, olive oil and seafood. Retails in the $12.00 and can be found at Jubilation, Quarters on Wyoming an Quarters on Westside.
4) Zenato Pinot Grigio: Another Italian, this little wine has a more rounded feel and less acid. The citrus and spice is balalnced without being overwhelming. Still very crisp and clean.
