Being a big Rodriguez(sp?) fan, I recognize certain themes throughout his work. I propose that Sin City is actually an alternative biblical interpretation of the story of Jesus...now bear with me... The main story, as it were, revolves around the hulking, proto Judas who seeks to destroy the antichrist as played by Frodo Baggins-boy. Frodo's character is a harbinger of doom instead of light who brings misery and pain and devours the flesh of the downtrodden instead of provided his own symbolic blood and flesh to bring hope and solace to the weak. Its anti-transubstantiation. Note the prominent crooked cross on the forehead of Bruce Willis' character the fallen christ figure who offers up his life to the concept of purity. What really was cool was that Rudger Hower's death is exactly the way he dispatched his nemesis in Bladerunner...Rodriquez works on many levels and I dig every one of them... - jim , posted 07/22/06 |

A visual treat but when the impact of the eye candy wore off, I actually walked out 3/4 of the way through the movie because I couldn't stand another line uttered in a broken-sentenced deep voice saying that they walked into the bar and the broads all knew what a man they were, except her, she was different... Sin City puts life in a different way than usually movies...It looks like a comic book like Kill Bill did but blew it off way better...All the actors and actresses pull the movie off Great...awesome coloring too - Candace , posted 09/12/05 |

I had high expectations for Sin City. I loved the graphic novels, I love Robert Rodriguez, and I love many of the actors. I was not disappointed. It exceeded my expectations and made me hopeful about the future of movies. - Unsubscribed , posted 04/22/05 |

if you haven't seen sin city yet, grab someone or yourself and go now!! fans of comic books, horror, gore, evil dead etc will love it. it's hilarious, gruesome, written and shot amazingly. the first comic book flick that looks and sounds like one. mickey rourke's segement is awesome and will keep you rolling for days. 2 thumbs up! dg - weirdbeard , posted 04/04/05 |
