Sentient Sound 004 - Out Now!!
SENTIENT Sound

SNS004 | four directions ep | soultek / adam marshall / evan marc / stereofuse

digital release available exclusively @ www.groovegate.com

Sentient Sound returns for 2006 with four tracks from some of the hottest up-and-coming producers on the global tech-house scene.

Kicking off the EP in style, Soultek drops a subtly Latin-flavored club workout, where analog keys and glistening sweeps ride out over a chugging low-slung bass. With his signature clean production and classic percussion programming, Chicago’s finest delivers a driving deep-tech groove designed to maintain the tightest dancefloor vibe.

After well-received releases for Antenna and Cynosure in 2005, Toronto’s Adam Marshall presents us with “Shadow & Light”. An infectiously bouncing low-end locks the track into place with subtle dub textures, processed guitar atmospherics and clever rhythm edits giving this track a contemporary feel all its own - while remaining totally effective on the decks.

With future tracks slated for SNS006, Sentient Sound is proud to present the immaculate talents of Evan Marc. Known the world over for his intricate digital downtempo releases as Bluetech, Evan’s mastery of DSP techniques and classical training as a pianist give him an unusual sensitivity for emotional dynamics and nuance. “Centigrade” adopts a crystalline acid house structure with incredible harmonics emerging from pulsating chords, intelligent delays and deep reverbs revealing hidden shapes beneath. Sparkling production and perfectly timed arrangements give this sophisticated groove a contagious effervescence sure to light up dancefloors across the globe.

Finally, following their 2005 release on Phono Elements, Frankfurt’s Stereofuse turn in a soulful slice of tech-house intrigue. Warm atmospheres and muted vocal cuts build “Runners High” into a sensual groove laced with subtle gestures and an intoxicating hint of melancholy - all wrapped together with tight drums and fluid arrangements.

Bringing together cutting-edge producers from Chicago, Toronto, San Francisco and Frankfurt, “Four Directions” features a distinct array of deep tech aesthetics, each uniquely valuable in a set. Showcasing a diversity of emerging talent that should appeal to fans of labels such as Moon Harbour or Audiomatique, Sentient Sound reinforces its commitment to forward-thinking dance music with this versatile release.
