um.... question.
why is the new moderator that last moderator's best friend on tribe and from LA?
Doesn't that kind of make you wonder about how a person can moderate a very specific SF tribe? - !~Leslie~ remains! , posted 06/22/06

Ludmilla's one of the coolest presences on Tribe. Any justification for booting her is inherently silly. - Scout , posted 06/21/06

A Disappointment in Moderatorship- (resolved)
The Tribe has been taken Public again. Thanks for your support!

Details from earlier:
>It pains me to give such a grand tribe such a low score rating on a tribe review, but recent actions & behavior by the new moderator have prompted me to do just that.

Once an inclusive tribe that welcomed both local & tourist foodies alike, the new moderator, only a few months into her moderatorship, has, in a fit of unfounded paranoia, changed the always 'Public' tribe to the unprecidented status of 'Moderated'. This action, whose sole purpose is to exclude certain members, whom she doesn't personally like, from enjoying participation in the tribe (some active members since 2003!), was done out of sheer spite.

According to some who've been declined membership due to association with the few she does not like, current *and* potential members of the SF Restaurant Tribe are now being screened to meet with her unposted requirements & standards, based on friend association. Three to date have been booted without explaination.

It is my opinion that SF Restaurants should be changed back to Public & an apology be made to those unfairly removed & declined. Exclusivity should NEVER factor into a wonderful resource tribe such as SF Restaurants.

Such reactionary & childish behavior by the new moderator is clearly the mark of an Amateur.

Huh?
Why would anyone make this tribe private and then boot people without explination?

THE REAL San Francisco Restaurants Tribe
The reverse situation happened in the Project Runway tribe -- the moderator had to switch from public to moderated because some crazy-*ss people started showing up and, well, being crazy. One of the people who got booted, no, wait, she left on her own, anyway, she started THE REAL Project Runway tribe where people "could speak freely and shoot the sh*t about Project Runway". Three months later and she's still the only member.... She left because she came on at the end of the season and started telling everyone was completely wrong who didn't agree with her favorite contestant or her opinions, etc. You should start THE REAL San Francisco Restaurants tribe and have someone still in the tribe post a message telling everyone to join that one, and then boot the moderator of the current SF Restaurants tribe. - Unsubscribed , posted 06/21/06

poor job, this exclusion must stop!
I got booted for no apparent reason today, not even a note from the Moderator relating to why?!
It is about food, restaurants, and fun...or so we thought. - Unsubscribed , posted 06/20/06

Why is this not a "public" tribe anymore? Why must there be exclusion?
it is a shame that a once great and active tribe has had it's doors to the public closed. it had been public since it's inception, now it is at the mod's discretion, which in turn has become abusive to particular long-term members. it is a shame that the moderator of this tribe feels the need to lash out at members who may not interact with her on a daily basis or share a common view-point. there is no forum in which to discuss this matter with the moderator, as she is myopic in her focus and puts anyone who crosses her on "ignore".

point being, the tribe was about good food, good places to go in the city. not a popularity contest.

give modship back to someone who is unbiased in personal affairs! rally for change!
