Where is my cow?
"Is that my cow?
It goes HURRGH, it is a hippopotomas."
I don't agree that you have to be into the Fantasdy genre to understand and/or appreciate Terry Pratchett. I can't stand the majority of the genre's repeatitive story lines and steryotypical heroes but I love Pratchett more than life. It's more social commentary than fantasy. I especially like Good Omens, and anything even loosely related to the Night Watch....ahhh Vimes - The Kya , posted 04/25/06

Along the same lines is Terry Prachett, but you have to enjoy the whole fantastic literature scene to really understand him. Mainly satire, into which is woven the most accurate (and sardonic) observations about Reality and Existence that I have ever encountered. - steven , posted 05/30/04
