So, not expecting much, I headed to the Post Street Theatre to join my fabulous friend Melissa to attend media night at the Spelling Bee musical. Much to my surprise this hilarious, irreverent non-family musical comedy was a joy to watch. I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while. The production was well directed, performed, and dressed. Each of the characters was beautifully written and performed by the actors in the show. There's also audience participation right at the beginning which draws you in right away, you feel part of the show, not just a spectator (you bm types should love that) and, in the tradition of South Park, when there's a chance to make a joke that crosses the line, they don't refrain from pulling out the punches.
