Best South Bay Museum
If you are anywhere near Mountain View and have an extra couple of hours, stop by the Computer History Museum. The largest collection of artifacts fo the computing revolution, the Computer History Museum tells the story of computers of the days of the abacus to the iMac and more. The Visible Storage exhibit is the main thrust of the museum, showing huge computers from the 1950s, the Apollo Guidance Computer that got us to the Moon, the Cray Supercomputers, early video games, robots, the Apple 1 and more.
Open for tours every Wednesday and Friday from 1 to 3 and Saturday from 1 to 4, the museum's guided tours are interesting and in-depth, but enjoyed by those over 12. - Christopher , posted 09/09/04
