In Siem Reap (where Angkor Wat is), check out Khmer Kitchen, a tiny hole-in-the-wall place in an alleyway that serves AMAZING Khmer food.

If you're doing the backpacking/guesthouse route, you'll quickly notice in Cambodia that the staff at the guesthouse basically works for free in exchange for the possibility of taking guests on tours. So expect to be hounded about whether you want them to take you around -- they also sleep on all the furniture at night! Apparently the Cambodians aren't as bad as the Vietnamese about aggressive touting, though.

Oh yeah, the latest edition of the Cambodia Lonely Planet guide has some great information about the temples at Angkor that isn't in the earlier editions, so if you don't have the one with the old guy on the front, you should get it. - Roger , posted 02/15/04
