Stop at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo. Possibly the tackiest hotel in the entire world (yes, they're aware of the fact.) The exterior is bad enough, but the interior looks like it was decorated by Snow White on acid, so stop in for a drink, or just to gawk at the world famous waterfall urinal. Can't miss it if you're headed up from LA; it's got it's own exit named after it, and you'll hit it before you hit the turnoff for Morro Bay (and back to Hwy 1). - Frank Jones , posted 09/29/04 |
