The Novelty-Lifeboat Yahoo mailing list has a long history, going back to its origins as a spinoff from the Novelty List, devoted to Terence McKenna's Novelty Theory. The community that has arisen on this list now concerns itself with just about anything that occurs to the minds of its members, most of whom are struggling to live in a world of rapidly accelerating novelty without losing the spiritual perspective on history and change that is, incidentally, part of the McKenna legacy.
