Toffutti makes the best faque cream cheese product out there, with several flavors and a variety that does not include hydrogenated oils! The last time that I bought bagels for my company, I got a tub of Tofutti, and even some non-vegnas were into it! Now, as a vegetarian working on going vegan, I have been through quite a lot of nasty dairy alternatives. I have tried Tofutti's substitute mozerella cheese, and simply wanted to cut off my tongue to get rid of the taste. But if Tofutti got one thing right, it is their "Better Than Cream Cheese." I have eaten bagels with cream heese my entire life. I love cream cheese, to the point of complete addiction. I was very skeptical about what this substitute would taste like. Was I ever impressed. I like it MORE than the dairy stuff. I prefer the texture, the flavor varieties, the way it melts a bit, and how rich it is. My girlfriend, who only recently went vegetarian, loves it too. Even if you've had bad experiences with other Tofutti products, give Better Than Cream Cheese a chance.
