WILD ZERO (2000) It?s no secret that I consider Guitar Wolf the last hope we have to save music. After seeing Wild Zero twenty times, I realize that Guitar Wolf is also our only hope against armies of zombies and UFOs. This is the story of Ace (Masashi Endo), a nice enough guy who listens to all the right bands (Crime, Ramones, Runaways, and of course, Guitar Wolf), but is still kind of a loser? until he befriends Guitar Wolf and falls in love with a girl with a secret. Meanwhile, zombies are taking over Japan. Could it be caused by a meteorite or those darned UFOs? Guitar Wolf has a problem of his own in the form of evil club owner Captain (who wears way too small hot pants and way too weird toupees). With a great soundtrack that includes everyone from the Oblivians to Bikini Kill, this is the greatest rock movie since Rock ?n? Roll High School. - Evil Larry , posted 11/13/04 |
