This is by far my favorite Christopher Guest movie. Made before people really started to notice him and his crew of improvisers. So it has a rough, very real documentary feel and it's hilarious. I agree, It was hilarious!!...I won't forget it anytime soon...and it kicks ass to see all the same actors play together in different movies. I just introduced some friends of mine to BEST IN SHOW. It's a mockumentary by Christopher Guest (i.e. This is Spinal Tap, A Migth Wind and Best of Show) that chronicles an anniverasry celebration in small town America. Although the writing and ab-libbing is hilarious, what I enjoy most about this movie is the elaborateness of the characters. They plan the characters to a T. The outfits, the mannerisms, the wording they choose. There is a flaming drama teacher who no one guesses is gay, a travel agent couple who have never left Missouri, a trashy Dairy Queen worker and the town Dentist who dreams of stardom. If you can appreciate a movie that makes fun of everyday people and life, that is a little over the top, this movie is for you. - Karen , posted 12/11/04 |
