"Creativity takes courage." -- Henri Matisse (French painter) I attended a Multi Level weeklong workshop with Suhaila in the beginning of August, just when Suhaila came back from her world tour. I have taken many workshops with Suhaila before, so I felt prepared, but the week turned out to be so much more than I imagined. We had a great group in attendance and we learned an awesome and inspiring choreography that was filled with emotion, layers of complexity and fluid expression. Suhaila is an amazing creative force and inspired us to do move than we thought we could. She was nurturing and accessible to us as we progressed through the challenges of the week. It was also great to take class and have our daily lunches with Jamila. We learned so much culture and history, and her class was so much fun (but was also very challenging). Jamilia had us dancing until we dropped ;) My friend and I also came back at night for classes with Kiteria and Suhaila, and I loved the fun way they teach and challenge their students. It was a fabulous week in all, and I am already saving for another trip to the mothership! - Mary , posted 01/21/08 |
