Queer Business
Growing up on a small island near Canada, this movie really touched close to home. Your business suddenly becomes everyone's business. This movie takes the course of a single, very long and eventful day for about five different story-lines to weave back and forth throughout the hour and a half of film time. One main character, Jarvis (James Allodi), who looks just enough like Adrian Brody to keep me transfixed, spends the day attempting to implement one absurd plan after another, constantly interrupted by the over-bearing, focus driven realtor, played by Sandra Oh, that sexy wine-peddling chick from Sideways. Callum Keith Rennie (the crazy dad from Falling Angels) plays a quiet, yet hunky town repairman/sign maker. A little stalkerish throughout the movie, and at first seems like a doddling village idiot.
Also, if you enjoyed the creepy commercial jingle dude hitting on pregnant Ellen Page (Juno; 2007) than you will enjoy her in underage passion with a local hoodlum as a side-story including her trashy, alcoholic mother played by Rebecca Jenkins.
