ha... that's like telling a crack addict to boycott his next fix.

i like the new look fine.. i miss the old look sometimes and find i get more and more used to this new look every day.

i do miss having more blogs on display and i miss being able to select the degree with which i see listings.

Not everyone likes change, or likes it, and has tries to cope. Boycotting sounds a little aggressive, since this is free, and gives a lot of people a chance to connect. Follow the advice to personally contact those in charge. Just my 2cents - Laura , posted 01/22/06

this is a free service and unless I want to build a personalized service for myself, I will be happy with the service that someone else has taken the time to build, and allowed me to use for free..no time or effort on my part. Look I understand some people are upset about the changes here but:
1. Write the management, let them know how you feel. At the same time try to be constructive rather than going off on some angry rant.
2. Go somewhere else. It isn't as if tribe is the only 'community' website service out there.
3. Start your own 'community' website. While the space is somewhat crowded a well done site with good management should still be able to succeed. - Chris , posted 01/22/06

I wasnt a huge fan of the change immediately, but then I remembered, I dont pay a membership fee, the moderators of Tribe.net owe me nothing!

No boycot, but sound feedback
At first I didn't like the new layout either. But I must say that there are some advantages over the old one.
As I've heard, they are going to change this new layout bit by bit, according to what could be changed for the better.
I think they do their best, it is easy to just comment on stuff you don't like, without paying attention to the work these people must have put into it.
I think they and we all are much better off with some sound feedback so they can change things we don't like, rather than boycotting the whole thing. - Princess Judy , posted 01/22/06

I felt Tribe did a great job of asking for input prior to the change, and even posting their design comps. It's very rare that any service would do that. Personally I think the changes are for the better. I actually find the ads to be less intrusive, and the overall layout more visually appealing.

Anyway, I get that some users don't care for it but there's probably a better way to achieve a compromise than boycotting. Asking Tribe to do a user poll on the new layout might be a good first step. The number of folks who don't like the new layout might actually be less than those who do. - katalicious , posted 01/21/06
