new Liquid Stranger album "Conquest of the Invisible" on Interchill is AMAZING!!!!
Review by DJ Neerav
WARNING: If you love your bass lines FAT, your beats smooth and smoking, and your music tongue in cheek and playful, this just might be for you!
Interchill's soon to be released cd by Liquid Stranger is THE BEST ALBUM I have heard from Interchill -or anyone else for that matter- in ages (and that's saying quite a lot!).
Slow cooked over smokin' dub beats, lightly dipped in a subtle Shpongle sauce, and sprinkled with grains of cheeky tribal playfulness, this album is the 'creme de la creme' that all audiophiles are forever dreaming about, forever seeking...
From the opening track straight through to the closing one, there are no weak links to be detected here; only massive beats, cinematic-style journeys, subtle acid lines, incredibly creative song constructions and samples, and a joyous yet gritty theme that keeps the listener on the edge of their respective seats gasping in amazing at the twists and turns that unfold.
The release is destined to be treasured by ambient DJs worldwide. But its real strength lies in its uncompromising musical integrity, which some how manages to transcend and translate into versatility, as it is equally at home in any other environment, be in couch, car, or café.
I have no idea how many years work went into creating this; all I can say is: The results speak for themselves. "The invisible Conquest" is aptly named, as Liquid Stranger's release is bound to inspire a new generation of artists and listeners alike to support underground music, both by purchasing this CD, and by trying their hand at cooking up something equally delicious and (ultimately) satisfying.
Long live Liquid Stranger; he has conquered my musical heart.
