this is a gyp
there are far better ways to block out the hideousness of it all in firefox.
start by downloading the extension called greasemonkey and installing it.
go then to the following website, belonging to a friend of mine, and install his script for use with greasemonkey: gdorn.nudio.net/greasemonk...fix.user.js - Unsubscribed , posted 01/23/06

Until the ugly red goes away...
Open a second window in firefox and use it to hide the masthead by leaving it to the left of the window. It's twice the clicks to block the red, but it made reading my tribe messages bearable. click a link, click back to the side window before it loads and you'll cut the amount of red you're seeing significantly. Sidebar scrolling still funtions on the mac without changing windows. - MT™ , posted 01/20/06
