Working the graveyard shift at a hotel, as I've been doing for eight years, doesn't exactly leave me in the best position to socialize, but I suppose that's my problem. I'm old enough to remember the original "Adam-12" - which should give you a clue as to my real age! - and I've been fascinated with steel restraints ever since and (I've also seen every episode of COPS multiple times, dating back the whole 20 years it's been on). I'm the kind of dude who likes to know a little something about what he's getting into before diving into the pool so to speak; the idea of anonymous encounters freaks me out, to the max! So I figure I'd join some tribes first, so I can get to know people.

Otherwise, I'm a pretty typical San Franciscan, if such a thing actually exists: I live in a rent-controlled apartment with two even older, drunken roommates (please don't tell them I said that about them!), and everything in my everyday life is so close by (my apartment, job, shopping etc.), that I can go through my life most of the time without even getting on a bus, let alone driving a car. Right now there's nothing I do in SF that I couldn't do in some non-descript, small town anywhere in the USA - and it's getting to the point where I'd like to change that.
