The Creative Music Guild is one of the city's best-kept nonprofit secrets, according to Portland Monthly. We are a fully accredited, 100 percent volunteer-run nonprofit organization founded in 1991 to bring the finest original composers/improvisers to Portland. We have produced more than 150 concerts, presenting hundreds of jazz-influenced musical artists from all over the world. Guild artists are uncompromising originals whose creations are not subject to the influences of the commercial radio or recording industries. Because of their individuality and unswerving commitment to take chances and push the music beyond the norm, they are true artistic pioneers.
