As Executive Director of a small Alzheimer's Assoc. Chapter, I began painting with Alz patients to use the paintings as part of a fundraiser. We soon discovered that what we were doing (and how we were doing it) was actually causing changes in the patients. When our Chapter territory was taken over by a larger territory, the program was dropped and our Chapter closed. Out of that heartache came the opportunity to make a difference. I founded a non-profit organization to promote the training of MnemeTherapists with the two-fold mission of serving the Alzheimer's patient and providing a rewarding career for visual artists.
