I am able to write complete songs about things that are happening and what I call "crunch" it down with lyrics that are fitting, humorous, and then sitting at my grandmother's piano. I sold my mother's after she gave it to me because she wanted the money for it. I can play most musical compositions and can play some music by ear. I try to write as writers do...but I add melodies worked out on the piano and then I stare at my manuscript paper and write the notes in pencil. I love the range of the piano and try to include the high and low octaves. I wrote "Columbine My Columbine, " "Lunar Control, Humans Out Of Control, " "Attack 9-11, " ....etc. etc. and that took a lot out of me...ouch....so I made deals with my attorney, wrote briefs, affadavits, litigation papers and dealt with Eric Harris, Dylan Kleboad(sp) [and I know them...from horrible dreams..last seeing the tall one in the desert's abodes eating dogs...} So, I compromised and wrote, "Atlanta On His Mind, " and I love that lay back song, "Hit That Home Run, " about being a baseball fan and Barry Bonds, and one of my chansons est favori, "Back-To-Back-The Los Angeles Lakers, " being an avid basketball fan, sports fan in general that I am. It was great in that last song because I could envision the 3 peat in basketball and just like it was produced it happened... Trajectory of overall character, (oh, not me!) and I'm finding humor in most everyday things is basically where my writing starts. World events shock, change things just as everyday events. June 6th a longtime Viet Nam Veteran Jan Jenson that I worked with for so long died of a heart aneruysm. Jan was one yr. older than me and his Viet Nam War Co. honored him on a Friday night in Brighton, MI by going and saluting him one by one at his coffin before next day's funeral. I still love that song in Madame Butterfly, "The Humming Song" singing it to Jan and other's untimely deaths..

Overview
Just as some people like writing novels I enjoy writing songs. Writing a song for me is more fun than going to Cedar Point or holding a baby. I went to Interlochen and I have a Master of Arts but what does that mean? Typical Pisces that I am I just like being creative. Sometimes it's just hard to find the time to do something you enjoy and since I live in the country there's much work to do and I need some deadlines.
I feel very bad that I was asked to write a song about H. Katrina etc. and I had some ideas but I didn't do it...
This doesn't usually happen and I will focus more on requested material.
I like being at "ground zero," and I try to create a song that's appealing and unique with lyrics and melodies.
It is with great conviction that I say this but I wish some great artist would ask me sing one of my songs or write one. That would be awesome!
I've tried to put some photos into this site but I've had trouble getting them on. Can't believe this...I just put 225 photos of Oahu and Maui in a book with notes of adventures and my photos will be coming here...

I used to write poems and sometimes I still do. I think that I probably drove some of my old professors crazy when I was all excited about some poem that I wrote. Then I thought why not write songs? I'm finishing my collection of music about Hawaii with some Hawaiian phrases which isn't easy since the Hawaiian language has so many syllables and vowels. Since I travel to Oahu and Maui Spring Break every year(oh please let me go back!!) I hope that people will like some of my new songs. I wrote the lyrics to a new song yesterday and I will write the notes this week. If anyone has been to Oahu or lived there they might relate to this song. I can write lyrics and think of the melodies transforming them into notes, etc. on manuscript paper not too difficultly. Sometimes I'll get stuck in "the bridge, " or Chorus. Once I was "stuck" in the verses. It's difficult to describe especially to some educators but when I complete a song I feel like saying...here's my latest book. Lot's of times I research and online material, books, experience etc. It's challenging and fun to write the songs and God has blessed me with this skill. June 16 I finished my song about Hawaii. Have 2 more to complete and I don't have much more to say...'cept you all must know I have a terrible voice and I am extremely busy today because there is much to write about...Please lord don't let my hands write the songs and not weed the gardens...I need my strawberries, cukes, tomatoes...please...these poor hands....and my mother says to get a manicure...What? Thank ChillyBob, Eminem, Bob Seger, Foo Fighters, Everclear, Beastie Boys, Radiohead, Busta Ryhmes, Beyonce, for just giving me that little, little bitty bitty push of encouragement and others...Faith Hill, oh no, Dolly, oh know, Cody Lyons, Joan Rochette, Bobby Lloyd, Lindsey Rose, Tower Of Power, etc., I just write the music but I do play it.....play...Oh, and please lord let me catch that big bass at the state park this year...he broke my hook last yr...but I got a new one...and a net...Luv and I have to tackle a very difficult, but wonderful song tomorrow...can u tell....
Here is an list of songs that I wrote, lyrics and notes(written for piano) Most of these songs have been recorded but a few haven't. My new collection of songs will be completed shortly. Hopefully everyone has heard at least one or two of these songs. This list is from memory and if I've left out one or two songs I will add them later.
Columbine My Columbine, Atlanta On His Mind, I Love This Car, OK Oklahoma You're OK, The Best Christmas Present In The World, Oh Christmas Tree What Will You Be?, Candlelight Candle Bright, Santa's Maid Ran Away!, Christmas Lights Up Heaven, Christmas Special Delivery, A Messiah Of Joy For Everyone!, Wreaths 'Round Me, Hit That Home Run!, Back-To-Back The Los Angeles Lakers, Lunar Control Humans Out Of Control, Working, Tomatoes Potatoes And My Toes Sonnet, Attack 9-11, God Loves America!, Star Spangled 2000 Forever, Fire Station One Or Wherever You Went..., Steppin' Up To The Lord, Walk With Me Lord Forever, Please Have A Little Patience... Please!, Changes And Change, Thinkin' That, Don't Ever Leave Me, You're Going To Miss Me When I'm Gone!, Honey I Only Love You!, Summer Sun Fun, Stop Requested, Aloha Honu!, Santa's Sleigh Froze In Mid-Air!, Rhapsody In Red, My new Christmas song is completed, sent and will be on a Christmas CD. There will be "Oh Christmas Tree What Will You Be?" re-recorded by probably Cody Lyons on one CD and new, humorous song about Santa and his Sleigh definitely a 2006 Christmas Song recorded by another record company to be on another Christmas CD. Two Christmas CDs!! I'm is seventh heaven...well almost..I'm now writing some serious music without lyrics and this is painful to not include lyrics but easier. Mother says "lay off the chords" but I love the chords...and I will...something like a Fur Elise piece. Then my final collection of poetry that I will mention the "Bambino". Hurricane Katrina etc. to complete a huge volume of poetry written about the Millennium. What a book written in poetry about the Millennium! I love writing poetry but music is my passion, my grandmother Weier's piano and I got some ink stained on my ivory keys. What will mother say? Matters that I'm writing a rhapsody for my mother...and some non-lyrical writing. Different...and I will always miss the music doesn't everyone? I will list my new songs as soon as I know they reach the Copyright Office...Where is Capital Heights?
So...writing, writing, and I hate my pencils and erasers.
I wish my fans would send me some good # 2 dark pencils since they are hard to find and I need a new manuscript notebook in order to write my treble clefs and bass clefs...music.
I wrote a lot of really wonderfully written music this year and 2006 isn't over yet..
Please look forward to my new Christmas Songs...what a great 2006 Christmas Song that will probably date me but it's a good one as usual.
Keep writing...I do...I do...
