I miss Sam.

I never thought writing one of these would be so hard. So many things come to mind when I think of this man, yet most of them pale in contrast to what I really mean to say, or say to mean. Learning and teaching are both journeys that many undertake, but few relish in. I love this man for what he has done for my life, and for those around him. He affects people that don't even know him.

If you pick up a stone to skip it across the water, sometimes it makes it all the way across. Other times it plops right in, creating ripples. Sometimes these ripples turn into tidal waves. People can drown in these tidal waves, but I choose to ride them. Many people are discouraged when they don't make it to the other side. Most don't realize it went exactly where it needed to go.

Waking in this dream is a feat in itself, but allowing yourself to dream of the place we will wake in when this is over is a task that we must all undertake, when we are ready. I know in my heart that Samuel will be there, and we will rejoice in the light. Mayhap the bass will go boom even there....wait. Of course it will. That's silly of me to think otherwise.

i just want to testify that i don't think it's possible to give sam as much credit as he is due. i know i certainly don't tell him enough on a day to day basis how much credit i truly give him, though i try to let him know as much as possible.
the accomplishments, material/external as well as the impossible to qualify/quantify internal ones, that this man has worked his way through are innumerable.
and sometimes i forget how fragile a human being can be, despite their nature and qualities.
and sometimes i just wanna pick him up and hold him and protect him from the world.
but it would be a disservice to do so.
he can do it all himself. he can conquer the universe.
and as much as i love him, i have to step back, admire his path of evolution, and feel blessed that i get to be a part of it sometimes.

Sam is inspiring. For months now I have looked at this profile and thought to myself, what kind of testimonial shall I write for Sam. He’s one of those people where there’s so much that could be said about him, that there’s no real good way to sum him up in a paragraph or two. Really get down what one thinks about him… but last night as I stopped by for a good moment with the family I noticed Sam using a method of spinning I had never seen before. The concept of the method in itself was just brilliant, but watching him use it and work it and control it... Ya know, you really see how a persons mind works when they're knee deep in their passion and thinking of little else. That’s what I saw in Sam last night... that brilliant madness that takes in sound waves and can read, manipulate and control them. Awe inspiring.

Sam is the shit. He's given me opportunities where no one else has. Thanks for being my friend Sam. You're a chill cat.

I think this is the first testimonial that ive written that is really hard to write. Theres just so much to say about sam. So much, that im sure i dont even know all of it. Hes a great fucking guy, an outstanding DJ, and a really big skwiiiiishy heart. I really enjoy running into this kid. Hes good peoples. And he is thee party opener. Hes as cool and copesetic as the sound waves he makes flow through the air.

I havent known sam that long, and i dont know him that well, but god damn theres something about this kid that makes me come back for more. And i think if you read the rest of the testimonials about him, it will be clear to you that this kid has something. he is teh awesome sauce.

Once in a great while, when the planets and stars are aligned just right, a being such as Sam incarnates upon planet Earth. This being is born with the ability to intuitively grasp the deep lessons of the wisest mystics without the usual ego-swelling that is characteristic of the uninitiated. Further, he is able to instantly create from his own wellspring of knowledge, compassion, and universal humor, a narrative of unparalled brilliance that he weaves effortlessly into his life circle.

In plain English, Sam is big, bright-ass meteor streaking across the celestial canvas of our lives. Drawing "oohs" and "ahhs" from all around, he mixes ridiculous beats, recites Gonzo hip-hop, takes part in Shakespearian drama, and manages to keep real life drama at bay. How does he do it? Don't ask. It's just who he is.

I am proud to have known Sam for about 3 years now, and as jaded as I sometimes get about the future in the hands of our young people, I am always reassured when I think of Sam as a leader in upcoming psychosocial mind battles, when the stakes are highest. He is on my honor guard, and I am indeed lucky to know him. Hopefully, he will someday spread his excellent genes throughout the galaxy, either in vitro, or Joshua Calvert style...

The Last Spamorai is truly a fantastic and unique soul.
Hes a brilliant, compassionate, musical shaman of the digital age, and he rocks my proverbial socks. Ive known him for X amount of years, it doesnt really matter how long, hes one of those people who you feel like youve always known. Someday, id love to collaborate with him on a music project, but only once ive become even close to wise level of awesome kung foo and understanding. I could keep writing praise and throwing accolades at him, but frankly, none of us have that much time. Sam is one of only a handfull of truly GOOD people that ive ever known. Have you ever noticed that if you ever meet someone who is associated with Sam or Sam introduces you to someone, that they are never bad people?
Sam just draws the most interesting and incredible people to him, which I think says so much about his character. He's so amazingly empathetic and wonderful. There's just so much to him beyond what you see in social scenes and in his beautiful face. He's so compassionate and he really truly cares about his friends. So much so that it visibly wounds him when people he cares about don't keep in contact or are having troubles.
He's talented and beautiful
He's crazy and intelligent
He's intellectually stimulating.
And he truly truly gives a fuck.

I can't say I go way back with him
I can't say I know him better than anyone
I can't say I even know much about him at all.
But the imapct he has had on me in the short span of time i've known him is just unbelievable.

Sam and I go way back... so way back infact, that we didnt even KNOW we went so far back. Sam was one of those tall funny cool kids that I wanted to hang out with but was to scared... least, back in the day. Now... Sam's a little more accesible... I still think he's one of those tall funny cool kids... but then again... now I am too. But seriously... Sam... he's got something. Im not quite sure what it is... but its what makes all my girl friends sigh and smile after talking to him... its what makes everyone laugh to the simpliest words... its the taste, to buy the best flavored ciggeretts ever... the vocabularly to come back from Italy with an italian accent. In my greater eschelon of friends and people... I;d say Sam goes into the same catagorey as my Scotti... chill... relaxed... in charged... aware... able... and most of all.. fairly content with who they are... and where they are. Its an awesome trait that... no matter how calm we may get... only a few can sustain through... most... times.

i can hardly begin to testify for spam's coolness... so many others have gone before, and he's such a supreme character that i hardly know where to start... but the beginning's as good a place as any.

Sam I am, Am I Sam?, Spamuri, or just plain ol` SPAM!
is one of california hot up an comming DJs.
His flare with the techs excedes that of DJs with twice his years of expierence. His Turntablism/crossfader work is evolving rapidly. His mixing skills are on the level where he spends little to no time cueing the record...even if mixing a track he has not heard before...and plays the tracks together for a long period of time. Give him 3 decks and he will never stop mixing. Expect to see some original music being put out by Spam in the near future.

Yeah and he is a cool guy too but you all can figure that our for yourself.

Sam is the most ambitious and talented cats I have ever met. It's so cool to see how more together you get every moment I see you. Geeno has it right. Breathe deep every day and know that you have time make it all happen.
