I've never been in the armed forces; never been in a war. But when I run into KK, it feels like how it must feel to run into a brother in arms. We've helped each other through some tight spots. The first time I met Kamikaze was years ago at Dreamtime. Although shorthanded, we had each others' back and managed a fine festival. Been annoying each other ever since.

Well KK is kind of like me in a wierd and vague sense.. he doesnt have a bridge to live under, and neither do I. He likes Bob Seger and so do I. He is honest and loving and doesn't like hippies, so we remain sheltered friends. Lovingly Plokk Drainbo Hippy Troll in search of a bridge.

I know as a fact that the effect of Kamikaze Kelly on my life was to give me appreciation of that wonderful thing called 'community'. It's something I took home with me the first time I read KK's blogs, and investigated it to my satisfaction. There's something humble, honest, and open about it that the man expresses every time he sits down to write.

There's good people and bad people in the world. I know in my heart that Kelly is one of the finest individuals that I know. His American Dream proves to me that there are, indeed, still good people today in the US. It ain't just a dream. People who work hard, play hard, live hard, and enjoy the freedoms that allow Burningman to happen.

Despite his assertion that his project is finished, it lives on in the man himself.

I've been meaning to write one of these for awhile now, but what the hell am I supposed to say about a son of a bitch like KK? I've been unfortunate enough to know this fucker in the flesh for several years, and perhaps I'm a masochist, because I've loved every second of it. He will gladly kick any asshole out of your warehouse, share his last beer and smoke, make you laugh when you think nothing in this piece of shit world can, and, that's right dude, I'm blowing your cover: he cuddles like a goddamned hippie. I'll never forget the time he lured a fuckton of hippies with a fake promise of free pizza, in a diabolical scheme to put those lazy fucks to work building a stage. He he. To top it off, I remember seeing him confiscate some of their beer later. As sadistic as I can be, none of these things are what I like most about KK. He has proven himself stronger than most men I've known by allowing himself to be vulnerable to others. It takes mucho cajones to be open about your own shortcomings, fears, and failures. We've both been there to support each other in the face of desperation, hunger, insanity, poverty, and even in the face of death. After trying Kamikaze I'll never go back to my old brand again. My whites are whiter and my colors brighter. Since I started using Kamikaze I get more pussy than I know what to do with.
